PROJECT CARGO FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY
Project Cargo Transport for Wind and Solar Energy
We coordinate the transport of wind turbine blades, nacelles, towers and solar mounting structures for park developers and EPC contractors, with route surveys and escorts on multi-country routes.
How we operate in renewable energy
The Transport Partner for Wind and Solar Parks
Wind park developers and EPC contractors in renewable energy work with components that leave no room for improvisation: blades tens of meters long, nacelles weighing dozens of tonnes and segmented towers that must arrive complete, on time, at a site with a strict installation window.
Crystal Logistics Services coordinates, through its network of vetted partners, the transport of wind and solar components: from route surveys for itineraries with tight turns, to the permits and escorts required in every country crossed.

How we work
Why Choose Us for Renewable Energy
Route surveys for extra-long components
We analyze every turn, roundabout and bridge along the route: a wind blade cannot improvise a change of direction like standard cargo.
Multi-country coordination with escort
For routes crossing several countries, we synchronize permits and escorts so the delivery meets the turbine's installation window.
Access to extendable and multi-axle trailers
Through our partner network, we allocate steerable trailers for blades and multi-axle platforms for nacelles and tower sections.

What we transport
What We Transport for Renewable Energy
Every wind or solar component gets the vehicle and permit suited to its type and length.
Wind turbine blades (up to 90m)
Transport on extendable trailers or steerable dollies, with a dedicated route survey for every turn.
Nacelles
Transport on multi-axle platforms, with weight calculations and escorts where required.
Tower sections
Transport of large cylindrical segments, with specific protection and securing.
Park transformers
Transport of electrical transformers for grid connection substations.
Solar mounting structures
Transport of steel structures and equipment for solar parks.

The specific challenge
The Real Challenge: The Last Kilometers to the Turbine
The main road is rarely the problem: the challenge lies in the last kilometers, on rural or forest roads leading to the turbine pad. We check the road width, the capacity of small bridges and the maneuvering space for a piece 40 to 60 meters long, well in advance.
Where needed, we coordinate temporary works (widening turns, reinforcing shoulders) through the local partners in our network, so the final leg of the delivery does not compromise a project planned months in advance.

Frequently asked questions
Renewable Energy: frequently asked questions
Through our network of vetted partners, we coordinate the transport of wind turbine blades up to approximately 90 meters, on self-steering dollies and extendable trailers. The actual length we can accept depends on each route's restrictions, which is why we carry out a route survey before confirming the solution. Every turn, roundabout and bridge is checked in advance, because a blade cannot improvise a change of direction like standard cargo.
The last kilometers, on rural or forest roads to the turbine pad, are usually the most sensitive part of the delivery. We check the road width, the capacity of small bridges and the maneuvering space for a piece 40 to 60 meters long well in advance and, where needed, we coordinate temporary works such as widening turns or reinforcing shoulders through local partners. That way, the final leg does not compromise a project planned months in advance.
We fully coordinate the route survey and obtain the permits for every country crossed, plus escorts wherever the law requires them. We synchronize permits and escorts on multi-country routes so the delivery meets the turbine's installation window. You have a single dedicated project manager who keeps track of the entire route, across more than 30 countries.
For nacelles, which can exceed 70 tonnes, we allocate multi-axle platforms with axle-load calculations, and for cylindrical tower sections we use configurations adapted to the diameter and weight. On routes with vertical clearance restrictions we can use Schnabel-type adapters, which reduce the overall height. We choose the vehicle to suit the component, not the other way around, precisely to comply with the permits along the route.
We prepare the project quote within 24 hours of receiving the components, dimensions and route, and the price depends on length, weight, the number of escorts, permits and site access. A wind park usually means several shipments per turbine, so we recommend planning at least 4 to 6 weeks ahead on multi-country routes. That gives us time for the route survey and for obtaining all the permits.
Yes, alongside wind components we transport mounting structures, park transformers and equipment for solar parks. All shipments benefit from extended CMR insurance of up to EUR 2.5 million, suited to high-value components. We deliver door-to-door, from the factory or port to the installation pad, with a single point of contact throughout.
