PROJECT CARGO FOR AVIATION & DEFENSE
Transport of aerospace components and industrial defense equipment
We coordinate the transport of aerospace components and industrial equipment for the defense sector, with contractual confidentiality and dedicated escort. For weapons and ammunition we have a separate page, Weapons Transport.
How we operate in Aviation & Defense
The transport partner for the aerospace and defense industry
Aerospace manufacturers and defense contractors work with components that are sensitive both technically and in terms of contractual confidentiality. As a freight forwarder, we coordinate every stage through our network of vetted carrier partners, with discretion procedures tailored to the specifics of each project.
We coordinate the transport of aerospace components, industrial defense equipment and dual-use items, in compliance with EU controlled-export regulations. For the transport of weapons, ammunition or ADR Class 1 materials, we use the dedicated procedures on the Weapons Transport page.

The specific challenge
Confidentiality as the standard, not the exception
Contracts in the defense industry frequently come with strict confidentiality clauses: who knows what is being transported, on which route and when. We structure the transport process so that information circulates strictly on a need-to-know basis, between the project team and the partners directly involved.
For equipment subject to controlled-export regimes, we verify the required documentation well in advance, together with the client's compliance department, before confirming any route detail. The framework we follow includes EU Regulation 2021/821 on dual-use items, national and European controlled-export legislation and NATO technical standards wherever the project involves them.

Frequently asked questions
Aviation & Defense: frequently asked questions
For bulky or oversized aerospace components we manage the entire route survey and obtain the special circulation permits in every transit country. We analyze the dimensions, the weight and the critical points along the route, and where necessary we coordinate pilot cars or escort through vetted carrier partners. You receive a clear transport plan with the permits already secured before departure.
For defense equipment and dual-use items we verify the documentation in advance, together with the client's compliance department, in accordance with EU Regulation 2021/821 and national controlled-export legislation. We confirm the correct classification of the goods, the export licenses and the screening of the parties involved before setting any route details. We do not confirm any transport until the compliance framework is complete and the required documents are validated.
We treat every defense contract with contractual discretion and operational security procedures, where information about the cargo, route and schedule circulates strictly on a need-to-know basis. We limit access to the project team and the partners directly involved, and where requirements demand it we coordinate chain-of-custody control and anti-tampering procedures. This way, the identity and contents of the shipment stay protected throughout the project.
For fragile or precision aerospace components we coordinate specialized handling, adapted packaging and transport modes suited to the type of equipment, through vetted carrier partners. We account for sensitivity to shocks, vibration and environmental conditions, and where necessary we arrange escort and monitoring along the route. A dedicated project manager tracks the cargo from pickup to delivery.
We provide extended CMR insurance of up to EUR 2.5 million, tailored to the value and nature of the equipment transported. For goods of exceptional value we assess the required level of cover from the outset and, if the project demands it, we structure additional insurance solutions together with the client. This way, the real value of the components is properly covered, not capped at a standard limit.
We prepare a tailored project quote within 24 hours of receiving the details about the equipment, route and compliance requirements. The actual execution timeline depends on permits, the route survey and the availability of the right equipment, which we coordinate through our partner network in more than 30 countries. You can contact us confidentially, and a dedicated project manager takes over your request from the very first contact.
