Axle Load Waiver / Special Transport Waiver
Special approval granted by the competent authorities for vehicles that exceed the maximum permissible axle load, under specific route conditions and period.
DST (Special Transport Exemption) is a form of complementary AST authorization, used in case the vehicle exceeds the permitted axle loads, not just the gauge. It is issued by CNAIR or the respective road administrators and may be conditioned by the performance of an infrastructure impact study. It is frequently requested in the transport of aggregates, construction materials or heavy industrial equipment.
