Special Transport Authorization
Mandatory document issued by CNAIR for vehicles or transports that exceed the legal limits of mass, length, width or height.
The Special Transport Authorization (AST) is required when a road vehicle exceeds the maximum dimensions or weights allowed on public roads in Romania. It is requested from CNAIR and may impose special traffic conditions: permitted hours, police escort, technical attendant or infrastructure consolidation. It is mandatory for oversized transport, heavy equipment, wind turbine components or other oversized goods.
